4th March 2006 - Day 138

The furthest place I've been today is the supermarket 3 bus stops away. Plans of travelling to Schwarzwald have been shelved due to the following reasons.
  1. Mourning the lost of a beloved camera
  2. Recovering from flu
  3. Preparation for Prüfung
1. Mourning the lost of a beloved camera
My camera finally gave up on me. Although the photos I took turn out over-exposed, I was still able to take some video clips using the camera.

Today, I wanted to shoot some short clips of how thick the snow here is, and how everything is covered in white.

The usual whirring sounds from the camera. But nothing on the screen. A few more tries to switch it on did not work.

Hey, I can't even get it to retract the lens back! Now I have a problem keeping it somewhere.

It is indeed unfortunate that the camera should go kaputt at this time. No doubt there are somethings which a camera cannot capture, a photo or a video clip always help trigger off memories.

I shall contend with an disposable camera for the time being. No close-ups, no fancy pictures, no instant gratification. Come to think about it, no pickpockets too. After all, it's a cheap, off the streets disposable camera. Not very valuable, don't you agree?

Back to the days where taking a photo is deliberated act and trigger-happiness comes at a cost.

2. Recovering from flu
Despite being on self medication for 2 days, my nose is still watery. But it is well under control. Taking more flu tablets and water should do the trick. More rest would be nice too.

3. Preparation for Prüfung
The preparation for the Prüfung on Wednesday is not going on very well as I struggle to fight off the sleep monster. Like the other exams I've taken here, I can only say I am over-confident and under-prepared.

I see spider webs again.

So, cleaning up the room tomorrow.
