9th November 2005 - Day 37

I got a mail in the mailbox today.

It was from the Hausmeister telling me to pay up my rent by the 10th, which is tomorrow. Since I got my bank acount number and that the bank draft has been cleared, I went down to effect the monthly deduction from my Girokonto.

The Kaution is 330€, and I would only get it back when I leave the hostel. Which means I will have at least 330€ with me when I finally leave this place in March 2006. I heard that they return the principal sum of money with the interest. Well they should. Judging from this fully occupied block alone, they will have 49500€ as deposit. Place this into a Tagesgeldkonto here with a interest rate of 2.4% p.a. for maybe half a year. That's 594€ of easy money.

I attended my first deutsch Phonetik lesson. The class had only 10 people. It's really back to the basics. Some of the things about pronunciation, I didn't even knew existed. But the class was a bit boring though.

I got back and drew up an ambitious plan to start reading my lecture notes. I figure that if I don't start now, I'll probably be stuck in hostel on beautiful weekends. Did I hear that students on SEP can relax and enjoy themselves? That's still true for me so far. And I intend to keep it that way by investing some of my time during weekdays in order to secure the bare minimum grade(ok, maybe a little bit more). Vier gewinnt! I'm quite sure it'll be easy if lessons were in English...

So, too much coffee just now, I'm still wide awake.
