3rd November 2005 - Day 31

I woke up at 0740 today. It seems that living near to the university gave me a false sense of security about getting to the lecture venue on time.

I was 15 minutes late for lecture. The lecture ended 5 mintues earlier. I was about to rush off to another lecture when I realised that the lecture was not on today.

I decided to go back to hostel and sleep somemore.

But that did not happen as I came back and realised that I have to print some notes for the lecture tomorrow. So at 1106, I was off rushing for the bus.

I tried to disturb a fellow Singaporean in his lab, but he was not there. So I went for an early lunch. Then I went to print my notes. I also spent some time in the computer lab surfing for tickets to visit my Gastfamilie this weekend.

With all the information in hand, I wanted to go down to the Hauptbahnhof to buy the train ticket. Then I realised that today was the last day of registration for German courses.

I spent the next 20 minutes coming up with a list of pros and cons on whether to register or not.

The decision was made. I registered myself for the phonetics class at a günstig 25€.

A lot has to be done to correct my pathetic pronunciation. Sometimes, I wonder if the locals here understood what I said. My English has an asiatische accent. A french classmate commented that I had a stark englische Akzent in my German. And when I'm speaking in Chinese, I just sound... Singlish.

Not good at all.

I gave up on buying the train ticket today. Will do that tomorrow and get some gifts for Familie Smith.

Originally planned to go to some carnival with Jason and his flatmates. But it was called off. So I spent the time doing nothing particularly constructive.

So, actual work starts once I've taken a shower. I have not prepared for tomorrow's lecture yet (otherwise known as translation).
